On Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, mentors, mothers-to-be and every other hard-working mom. Why? Because they deserve recognition on Mother’s Day—and all-year round!
This year, we sat down with three Dansko employees to ask one simple question: “Why do you celebrate Mother’s Day?” We heard stories filled with emotion, gratitude and excitement, though each response came back to one common thread: at Dansko, we see Mother’s Day as an opportunity to stop, reflect, and recognize mom for her steady support.
Below, we share a few of the reasons we will celebrate mom this year:
Terry H., Sales: "On Mother’s Day, I celebrate my wife, Amy, for her tremendous work as a loving and caring mom of our two energetic girls. Because the three of us probably don’t express our gratitude enough, we will take this day to say ‘thank you for her hard work, dedication and sacrifice.”
Deb C., Customer Service: “I’m thrilled to celebrate my daughter-in-law and her family. Between school, work, sports, fundraisers, and community service events, they constantly find themselves on the run, so we like to relax with great company and a delicious meal. I thought being a mother was enjoyable—but being a grandmother is even better!"
Jessica B., Accounts Receivable: “This year, I will celebrate something new—the miracle of being a mother-to-be. Every time my baby flutters, flips or kicks, I can feel my anticipation rising to meet her. I am filled with unbelievable excitement about the joy she will bring to my family.”
We encourage you to answer this question for yourself—and then spread the love to the mother figure in your life.
