Dansko Co-founder and CEO Mandy Cabot named to Footwear News Power 100 List

Mandy Cabot moves to number 81 on the 2012 Power 100 list

West Grove, PA.   November  12, 2012.  Dansko announced today that its co-founder and CEO Mandy Cabot has, for the second consecutive year, been named to the Footwear News Power 100 list.  Mandy joins a distinguished list of designers, retailers and vendors on this year’s list.  Selection of those on the Power 100 list is made by the dedicated team at Footwear News.  They consider many factors including sales figures, earnings, store openings, line launches, collaborations, market expansion and consumer buzz.

“I am deeply honored to be named once again to this year’s Footwear News Power 100 list and to be included among such talented individuals whose efforts have positively impacted the footwear industry. I’m very proud of Dansko’s journey since its founding in 1990 and am looking forward to the continued growth and success of the brand,” said Mandy Cabot, co-founder and CEO of Dansko.

2012 has been a landmark year for Dansko in more ways than one.  It marks the third consecutive year of record breaking sales.  It is also the year that the company went from being partially to 100% employee owned.   This transition to 100% employee ownership ensures that the quality, image, and culture of Dansko are in the hands of its primary caregivers and stewards, its employees.

Said Cabot, “Peter and I never started Dansko for the pot at the end of the rainbow.  We started it because we believed that what we could offer could significantly impact the very quality of life of our customers, our employees, and the communities we’re a part of.  Becoming 100% employee owned wasn’t our exit strategy but our Succession Plan, a way to bridge continuity of the past with our vision for the future.”

Last but definitely not least is Dansko’s new state-of-the-art distribution center which is nearing completion and due to be fully operational by the end of the year.  Like the brand’s corporate headquarters in West Grove, PA, the distribution center is on track to receive LEED® certification.

This fall, Cabot was also honored as a ‘Woman of Distinction’ by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

About Dansko - Established in 1990 and now 100% employee owned, Dansko is a market leader in all- day comfort footwear and healthcare apparel.   A founding B Corporation, Dansko stands at the forefront of ethical business practices and operates out of its LEED Certified headquarters in Chester County, PA.    You can find Dansko products at over 2,500 premium US and international retailers.
