Since 2008 Dansko has been purchasing renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset the energy that we purchase. The purchased energy credits support the wind industry by providing an essential component of wind farm financing which leads to additional development. RECs, also known as green certificates, green tags, or tradable renewable certificates, allow consumers across the country to support renewable energy generation and contribute to the growth of the renewable energy sector.
